Evolution vs God

Author: Lance Winslow

Many people subscribe to a major religion or a sect of one of the major religions there are so many to choose from there is something for everyone. For instance one recent think tanker stated that; you can go to heaven, go to hell or come back as a cow. It is up to you!

That is so funny. I have for kicks or curiosity for some reason, studied all the World Religions to see why everyone gets into it so much, it is rather interesting. Often religions will lose members who leave because no one will answer their questions. One recent former religious group and catechism attender states:

I asked REALLY good, and perfectly innocent questions. Most of the time they got really frustrated with me when I'd ask questions like "why?" and a lot of times my questions were left unanswered.

Indeed and this is a good point and it happens all the time. I find the whole thing rather wondrous that they cannot answer their own questions instead: "god works in mysterious ways?" or "The human mind just cannot understand it all?" I'm like "Oh really now? Why not explain it to me and let me be the judge of that?"

You see most people do not have anything against religion. Indeed many of them say things like this;

I do not claim to be an Atheist, because I know I can't rely completely on evolution as how humans came to exist: there have to be other unproven theories that make sense too, that we haven't thought of yet - or we just choose not to believe there could be a God who somehow created us, like we were some science project or something. Could be that, who really knows, right?

Well evolution makes sense and we have evidence of this of course, yet no one can say there was not a head start somewhere along the way. So, being a complete atheist, you have to claim to know, and since we don't know, that makes it tough to be 100% sure of it, the evolutionary tract as the complete and final answer. And in that evolutionary concepts are rather diverse in themselves.

So, as far as evolution VS god, well define what god is, which god you are talking about of which religion. Evolutionary theory has much more proof than any religion, yet in itself although it does explain how humans came to be, there maybe much more to it, that we do not know. Think on this in 2006.

Currently Lance is retired at age 40 and is running an Online Think Tank Forum while traveling North America. Perhaps considering something extremely challenging to do that will exercise his mind and utilize all his experiences, observations and skills. Any ideas?
