The Truth About Plus Size Beauty

Author: Janice Wee

Did you know the legendary beauty, screen goddess, Marilyn Monroe was considered plus size in her time. Instead of the Size S outfits you would expect a movie star to wear, she wore size 12. She lifted weights. Kept her figure by weight lifting. Definitely not a fragile waif you would expect a sex goddess to be.

Jennifer Lopez wasn't afraid of what people might think of her curvy bottom. In fact, she flaunted it. She sparked an interest in butt implants. Inspired by her curvy figure, there is a growing trend of women who go for implants to get bigger butts, curvier bottoms.

You might think that thin is beautiful. Maybe modern society today puts a premium on being thin. To the extent that teenage girls and grown women who should know better, are starving themselves to fit into that size S dress. Is it really worth it?

It wasn't that way in the past. The paintings of classical masters show fat women as their muses. Plus size women in those days were considered beautiful.

Even in primitive societies, a woman needs to have some fat on her body to be considered beautiful. Plump women were considered beautiful as they had enough fat stores to survive a famine and to carry a pregnancy to term even if there were a famine. Even in some societies today, women have to be fat to be beautiful. To the extent that women in Mauritania are force fed to gain that plus size frame that is considered beautiful.

Even in the society that we are familiar with, an hour glass figure is considered the epitome of beauty. Women who were heavy on top and heavy below, but with a small waist were considered very attractive. If you are plus size to begin with, with a big bust and round hips, wearing plus size corsets instantly gives you that hourglass look. I mean, how many thin women have gone for breast implants, to get that hourglass look?

Contrary to popular belief, plus size does not mean unhealthy. Athletic women with muscular thighs and strong bodies may not be able fit into smaller sized clothes. Especially if they are big boned to begin with. Yet they are strong, taut and beautiful.

A size 14 is a plus size, but when a woman is tall and strong, with lovely hair, pretty features and inner beauty, she is gorgeous.

If you are plus size, celebrate your curves. Beauty is more than that number on the dress label. It is about your poise, confidence. The way you carry yourself. How well groomed you are. You hair. You features. The way you make the best of what you were born with. A glowing skin. A healthy body, regardless of the number on that label.
