Candle Fundraisers

Author: Max Bellamy

Fundraising is the process of soliciting funds from other individuals or foundations to provide for the day to day activities of the organization. You may want to raise funds to support certain activities in a school, to support a scholarship program for underprivileged students, or maybe you want to organize a fundraiser for your church activities like evangelistic meetings or outreach projects. Sometimes you may need a fundraiser to help the needy or victims of natural calamities.

There are many methods you can use for fundraisers. You can employ the services of a fundraising professional to make all the preparations for the event. But if youre planning to do some fundraising, some ideas would be to bake cookies, sell old books or magazines, throw a food fest or maybe make some candles.

Candle making for a cause has become popular in recent years. With the increase in awareness of the beneficial aspects of aromatherapy and the use of candles in spas, people have been looking for ways to emulate the ambience of a health spa in their own homes. One way of replicating this calming environment is by lighting scented candles. You can make scented candles in the comfort of your own home.

First gather the following materials: small jars to be used as containers, wax, a burner (other than the candle you are going to produce), a wick, scented oil, and coloring. All you need to do is to melt the wax, add some coloring to produce the color you desire, and allow the melted wax to drip into the jar container. While the wax is still liquid, add the scented oil that you desire. Add the wick to the middle of the mixture and allow the wax to cool and harden.

Mass produce these scented candles, and you will have a beautiful homemade product for your fundraiser. Theyre cheap to make and reap high returns. Make sure you provide some samples for your customers to test before buying. Package your candles in an attractive way and try mixing different scents according to your tastes.
